Good to Know
Dress Code
Traditional Indian attire is recommended at all temples — especially Kashi Vishwanath, Ram Mandir, Mahabodhi and Lalita Devi Shakti Peeth. Remove footwear and cover head where required. For Kamadgiri Parikrama and Chakra Tirth, you will walk barefoot — carry socks/slippers for post-parikrama comfort.
Temple Timings
Most temples open at 5–6 AM and close for a midday break (12–2 PM). Plan temple visits in the early morning or late afternoon for the best experience. Kashi Vishwanath has specific darshan slots — VisitKashi will assist with queue management.
Photography
Photography is restricted inside Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Ram Janmabhoomi and Mahabodhi Temple main shrine. At Naimisharanya, photography is generally allowed in open areas. Always respect local signage and the sentiments of fellow pilgrims.
Naimisharanya Tips
Naimisharanya is a quiet, less-commercialised pilgrimage town with limited ATMs — carry enough cash. The town has simple but clean dharamshalas and guesthouses near Chakra Tirth. The early morning atmosphere at Chakra Tirth (5–7 AM) is profoundly peaceful and highly recommended.
Chitrakoot Tips
Chitrakoot straddles the UP–MP border. The Kamadgiri Parikrama path is paved and suitable for all ages — starts and ends at Bharat Milap Mandir. The Gupt Godavari cave requires wading through knee-deep water inside (water is cold and clean) — carry a change of clothes or wear a dhoti.
Bodhgaya Currency
Bodhgaya is an international Buddhist destination. ATMs are available near the Mahabodhi Temple. The Tibetan market near the Kalachakra grounds offers excellent Buddhist artefacts, prayer beads and thangka paintings — a unique souvenir opportunity on this Hindu-Buddhist circuit.
Frequently Asked Questions — 9 Nights 10 Days Varanasi Prayagraj Chitrakoot Ayodhya Bodhgaya Naimisharanya Package
Why does this package spend 3 nights in Varanasi?
▼Varanasi (Kashi) is the most sacred city in Hinduism and deserves more than a rushed 1-night stay. 3 nights allows you to experience the sunrise boat ride, Kashi Vishwanath darshan, Sarnath, Ramnagar Fort, Sankat Mochan, evening Ganga Aarti and the city's unique spiritual energy without feeling rushed. It is the spiritual anchor of this entire pilgrimage circuit.
Why 2 nights in Chitrakoot instead of 1?
▼Chitrakoot is vast and spiritually deep. With 1 night you can only cover Kamadgiri and Ramghat Aarti. The second night allows exploration of Gupt Godavari, Sphatik Shila, Bharat Milap Mandir and Hanuman Dhara — sites that most pilgrims miss due to time constraints. Chitrakoot rewards slow, immersive visits.
What is the best time for this 9N/10D pilgrimage circuit?
▼October to March is ideal — cooler weather, major festivals (Dev Diwali in November, Makar Sankranti in January, Ram Navami in March/April) and comfortable driving. Avoid June–August due to extreme heat and monsoon. Winter mornings at Chitrakoot and Naimisharanya are particularly peaceful.
What is the significance of Naimisharanya?
▼Naimisharanya (Nimsar, Sitapur district, UP) is one of the holiest forests in Hindu scriptures, mentioned in the Mahabharata, Ramayana and all 18 Puranas. Sage Shaunaka and 88,000 sages performed a 12-year yajna here, and Suta narrated all Puranas at this site. Chakra Tirth and the Lalita Devi Shakti Peeth make it a must-visit for serious pilgrims.
How long is the drive from Bodhgaya to Naimisharanya on Day 9?
▼Bodhgaya to Naimisharanya is approximately 420 km via the Varanasi–Lucknow highway, taking about 7 hours. We start early from Bodhgaya (after the morning Gaya/Vishnupad visit) to arrive at Naimisharanya comfortably by evening. It is a long but manageable drive on good national highways.
Can I do Pind Daan at Gaya during this trip?
▼Yes. Pind Daan (ancestral rites) at Vishnupad Temple in Gaya is included in the Day 9 morning itinerary before departing for Naimisharanya. We can arrange a priest (pandit) for the ceremony — please inform us at least 2 days in advance so we can coordinate timing.
Is Lalita Devi Temple in Naimisharanya one of the Shakti Peethas?
▼Yes. Lalita Devi Temple in Naimisharanya is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas — sacred sites where parts of Goddess Sati's body fell after Lord Vishnu's Sudarshana Chakra dismembered her. The heart (hridaya) of Sati is believed to have fallen here, making it one of the most powerful Shakti shrines in North India.
What type of vehicle is used for this 10-day circuit?
▼A fully AC sedan (Swift Dzire for 1-4 people), AC Ertiga (5-6 people), or AC Innova Crysta (6-7 people) is assigned based on group size. For 8+ travellers, a Tempo Traveller is arranged. All vehicles are GPS-tracked and insured for the entire multi-state circuit.
Can this package be customised?
▼Yes. VisitKashi specialises in custom pilgrimage itineraries. You can add Mathura–Vrindavan, Lucknow, Chhapiya or Naimisharanya extension; change hotel categories to deluxe or heritage; add a night at Prayagraj; or split the Bodhgaya stay to 2 nights. WhatsApp us for a personalised quote.
Is this package suitable for senior citizens and families?
▼Yes. We offer senior-friendly options — ground floor hotel rooms, slow-paced itinerary with flexibility, wheelchair-accessible vehicles on request, extra assistance at ghats and temples, and priority darshan arrangements wherever possible. The 3-night Varanasi stay especially benefits seniors who need more rest time between sightseeing.
How many total kilometres does this circuit cover?
▼Approximately 1,400–1,500 km: Varanasi → Prayagraj (130 km) → Chitrakoot (130 km) → Ayodhya (200 km) → Bodhgaya (350 km) → Naimisharanya via Lucknow (420 km) → Lucknow Airport (90 km). Our experienced drivers are familiar with all routes and plan fuel/rest stops efficiently.
