6 Nights / 7 Days · Lucknow · Timings adjustable to your arrival

Day 1

Arrival in Lucknow — Bara Imambara, Bhulbhulaiya, Rumi Darwaza & Hazratganj

Arrive at Lucknow by flight (Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport) or train (Lucknow Junction / Charbagh). Meet your dedicated guide and check in to hotel. After freshen-up, begin with the Bara Imambara (1784 CE) — the monumental complex built by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula, housing one of the world's largest unsupported arched halls and the famous Bhulbhulaiya labyrinth. The Bhulbhulaiya features 489 identical archways and interconnected passages that have mystified engineers for 240 years — your guide navigates you through this architectural enigma and up to the rooftop for panoramic views of old Lucknow. Visit the Asfi Mosque and Shahi Baoli. Outside: the majestic Rumi Darwaza (1784 CE) — the 60-foot triumphal gateway inspired by Constantinople's Sublime Porte, widely considered the finest example of Nawabi monumental architecture. Evening: explore Hazratganj — Lucknow's graceful colonial promenade. Dinner and overnight in Lucknow.
Day 2

Chhota Imambara, British Residency, Hussainabad & Legendary Awadhi Food Trail

After breakfast, visit the Chhota Imambara (1837 CE) — the Palace of Lights built by Nawab Muhammad Ali Shah, with an interior dazzling with thousands of Belgian crystal chandeliers, gilded calligraphy, and the silver-canopied royal throne. Proceed to the British Residency (1800 CE) — the haunting ruins of the colonial administrative complex where the 87-day Siege of Lucknow unfolded in 1857; cannonball-pocked walls, the largest concentration of British graves in India, and a deeply evocative museum. Hussainabad Clock Tower (1887 CE) — India's tallest at 67 metres — and the adjacent Picture Gallery with Nawab portraits by European artists. Afternoon: the legendary Lucknow food trail — Tundey Kababi (est. 1905, 160-spice Galouti Kebab), Lucknawi Dum Biryani, Ram Asrey sweets (est. 1805), and Basket Chaat street food. Evening: Aminabad bazaar for authentic Chikankari and Zardozi shopping. Overnight in Lucknow.
Day 3

Drive to Naimisharanya — Chakra Tirth Snan, Lalita Devi Shakti Peetha & Gomati Aarti

After breakfast, check out and drive to Naimisharanya (approx. 85 km, 1.5 hrs). The Skanda Purana declares this forest the supreme tirtha — the holiest pilgrimage site in India. At the dawn of Kali Yuga, 88,000 rishis gathered here under Sage Shaunaka to hear the Puranas recited by Suta Goswami. Lord Brahma's Sudarshana Chakra descended here, creating Chakra Tirth — the most sacred spot. Check in to guesthouse. Begin darshan: Chakra Tirth Kund — bathing here equals 100 Ashwamedha Yagnas. Lalita Devi Temple — one of the 108 Shakti Peethas, one of the most powerful goddess shrines in North India. Purifying Gomati Snan at the holy river's sacred ghats. Evening: aarti at the temple complex as the ancient forest falls into a deep, devotion-filled stillness. Dinner and overnight at Naimisharanya.
Day 4

Naimisharanya — Vyasa Gaddi, Dadhichi Kund → Drive to Ayodhya — Ram Mandir & Saryu Aarti

Rise before sunrise for a Gomati Snan at Brahma Muhurta. Complete the deeper Naimisharanya circuit: Vyasa Gaddi — where Maharishi Vedavyasa composed all 18 Mahapuranas, 18 Upapuranas, and the Mahabharata — the single most important literary site in Hinduism. Dadhichi Kund — where Rishi Dadhichi sacrificed his bones for Indra's Vajra weapon in one of the greatest acts of self-sacrifice in Hindu mythology. Soot Gaddi (seat of Suta Goswami), Hanuman Garhi Naimisharanya, and the Panch Pandav Temples. Collect prasad. Check out and drive to Ayodhya (approx. 130 km, 2.5 hrs). Check in to hotel. Afternoon: darshan at Ram Mandir — the grand temple consecrated 22 January 2024 at the birthplace of Lord Ram, its 161-foot Nagara shikhara a beacon of faith. Visit Hanumangarhi. Evening: the Saryu Aarti at Ram Ki Paidi — a sacred fire ritual as oil lamps drift down the holy Saryu. Overnight in Ayodhya.
Day 5

Ayodhya — Saryu Snan, Kanak Bhawan, Guptar Ghat → Drive to Chhapiya — Swaminarayan Janmabhoomi

Wake before sunrise for Saryu Snan at Ram Ki Paidi — the most sacred bath in Ayodhya. After the snan, complete the Ayodhya circuit: Kanak Bhawan (golden palace gifted to Sita by Kaikeyi), Sita Ki Rasoi (original royal kitchen of Ayodhya palace), Nageshwarnath Temple (established by Ram's son Luv or Kush), Treta Ke Thakur at Tulsi Ghat, Mani Parvat, and Guptar Ghat — the solemn site on the Saryu where Lord Ram took Jal Samadhi at the conclusion of his earthly avatar. Post-lunch, check out and drive to Chhapiya in Gonda district (approx. 100 km, 2 hrs). Arrive at the sacred birthplace of Bhagwan Swaminarayan — born as Ghanshyam Maharaj on 3 April 1781 (Ram Navami day) to Dharmadev and Bhaktimata. Visit the Swaminarayan Janmabhoomi temple complex, revered by over 5 million followers worldwide — the Janmabhoomi Mandir at the exact birth house, the childhood hindola (swing), and the temple of Dharmadev and Bhaktimata. Attend the evening aarti. Dinner and overnight in Chhapiya / Gonda.
Day 6

Chhapiya — Morning Darshan → Drive to Prayagraj — Triveni Sangam Boat Ride & Ganga Aarti

Rise early for the morning aarti and complete darshan at the Swaminarayan Janmabhoomi complex — the birthplace of Bhagwan Swaminarayan who, at age 11, renounced home and walked 12,000 km barefoot across India before founding one of the world's most active Vaishnava movements with 1,100 temples globally including the iconic Akshardham temples. Collect prasad. After breakfast, check out and drive to Prayagraj (approx. 270 km, 4.5–5 hrs from Chhapiya / Gonda) — the Tirtha-raja (king of all pilgrimages), home to the Triveni Sangam where Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati converge. This is the longest drive of the tour and is best done comfortably with a highway meal stop. Arrive in Prayagraj by evening. Check in to hotel. Proceed to Triveni Sangam for a serene sunset boat ride — float at the exact point where the sacred rivers meet, as the last light of day turns the waters golden. Attend the evening Ganga Aarti at Sangam ghat. Dinner and overnight in Prayagraj.
Day 7

Prayagraj — Sangam Snan at Dawn, Akshaya Vat, Bade Hanuman Ji, Anand Bhawan & Departure

Wake before sunrise for the supreme pilgrimage act at Prayagraj — Sangam Snan at the Triveni Confluence. The Puranas declare that a single dawn bath at the meeting of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati washes away the accumulated karma of all past lives and equals the merit of all pilgrimages combined. After the snan, visit the Allahabad Fort (1583 CE, Emperor Akbar) for darshan at the Akshaya Vat — the immortal banyan tree mentioned in the Mahabharata as indestructible even through cosmic Pralaya, recorded by Chinese pilgrim Xuanzang in 644 CE and revered continuously ever since. Also visit Saraswati Koop (the sacred well of the invisible Saraswati River) and the underground Patalpuri Temple. Bade Hanuman Ji — the celebrated reclining Hanuman idol that submerges under Ganga floodwaters every monsoon and always resurfaces — one of the most unique Hanuman shrines in India. If time permits: Anand Bhawan — the ancestral mansion of the Nehru-Gandhi family, now a national museum documenting the independence movement. Post-lunch transfer to Prayagraj Junction / Bamrauli Airport for your onward journey, or drive back to Lucknow (approx. 200 km, 3.5 hrs) for departures from Lucknow International Airport. Tour concludes with the complete blessings of Lucknow, Naimisharanya, Ayodhya, Chhapiya, and the Triveni Sangam of Prayagraj.

Frequently Asked Questions — 6 Nights 7 Days Lucknow Naimisharanya Ayodhya Chhapiya Prayagraj Tour Package

What is the distance from Chhapiya to Prayagraj and how long is the drive?

Chhapiya (Gonda district) to Prayagraj is approximately 270 km — about 4.5–5 hours by road via NH27. This is the longest single drive of the tour. We schedule it on Day 6 morning after the Swaminarayan Janmabhoomi darshan, departing around 8–9 AM and arriving in Prayagraj by early afternoon — leaving time for a comfortable lunch, hotel check-in, and the Sangam sunset boat ride. Our AC vehicles make the drive comfortable, and we stop at a clean highway dhaba for lunch midway.

Can we depart from Lucknow instead of Prayagraj on Day 7?

Yes. After the morning Prayagraj darshan (Sangam Snan, Akshaya Vat, Bade Hanuman Ji), we offer a transfer to Lucknow (approx. 200 km, 3.5 hrs) for afternoon/evening departures from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport or Lucknow Junction. This option is included at no extra charge for guests with late afternoon or evening flights/trains. Lucknow has significantly better flight connectivity than Prayagraj (Bamrauli Airport has limited routes). Please inform us of your flight time when booking so we schedule the Day 7 Prayagraj darshan efficiently.

What is the spiritual significance of Prayagraj as the final destination on this tour?

Prayagraj (the Triveni Sangam) is called Tirtha-raja — the king of all pilgrimages — because it is believed to be the meeting point of all sacred rivers, all pilgrimages, and all spiritual merit. Visiting Prayagraj at the end of a pilgrimage circuit is deeply traditional in Hinduism — pilgrims often conclude their sacred journeys with a Sangam Snan to purify and consolidate all the merit earned during the tour. After visiting Naimisharanya (the forest of the Puranas), Ayodhya (Ram's birthplace), and Chhapiya (Swaminarayan's birthplace), concluding with the Triveni Sangam creates a spiritually complete and immensely powerful pilgrimage arc.

What is the Akshaya Vat at Prayagraj and why is it significant?

The Akshaya Vat (Immortal Banyan Tree) is enclosed within the Allahabad Fort and is one of the most ancient sacred objects in India. The Mahabharata, the Puranas, and several ancient texts describe it as indestructible — it is said to have survived the great cosmic dissolution (Pralaya) and will outlast the current universe. Emperor Ashoka built a temple around it in the 3rd century BCE. The Chinese traveler Xuanzang recorded it in 644 CE. It was partially destroyed and rebuilt multiple times but has always survived. Darshan of the Akshaya Vat is considered highly auspicious and is believed to confer immortality of merit on the devotee.

Can this 6N7D tour be extended to include Varanasi?

Yes. Varanasi is approximately 200 km from Prayagraj (3.5 hrs). Adding 1–2 nights in Varanasi at the end creates a 7N8D or 8N9D package covering Kashi Vishwanath, sunrise Ganga boat ride, Sarnath, and the grand Ganga Aarti. This is a natural extension as Prayagraj and Varanasi are the two most important pilgrimage cities of the Ganga plains and are directly connected. We offer this as part of our longer Lucknow-based packages (7N8D, 8N9D, 9N10D) also listed on this page. Contact us to customize.

What is the best season for this Lucknow to Prayagraj grand circuit?

October to March is ideal across all five destinations — pleasant weather (8–26°C), vibrant festivals, and comfortable pilgrimage conditions. Festival highlights: Lucknow Mahotsav (November); Deepotsav at Ayodhya (November Kartik Purnima) — all ghats lit with millions of diyas; Kartik Purnima fair at Naimisharanya (November); Ram Navami and Swaminarayan Jayanti at Ayodhya and Chhapiya (March–April — both birthdays fall on the same day); and Magh Mela at Prayagraj (January–February) — the annual Sangam festival drawing millions. Avoid May–June (40–45°C heat across UP).
