3 Nights 4 Days Chhapiya Ayodhya Naimisharanya Tour Package — Chhapiya Tour Package Overview

Experience a profound three-destination pilgrimage through the sacred heartland of Uttar Pradesh with our 3 Nights 4 Days Chhapiya Ayodhya Naimisharanya Tour Package — a spiritually rich journey linking the birthplace of Lord Swaminarayan, the birthplace of Lord Rama, and one of the most ancient forest sanctuaries in all of Hindu scripture. Begin at Chhapiya (Chapiya), Gonda district — where Sahajanand Swami, worshipped as Purna Purushottam Narayan by over 100 million Swaminarayan devotees worldwide, was born on Ram Navami 1781 CE. The Swaminarayan Janmabhoomi Temple enshrines the Janma Sthan (exact birth room), the ancestral home of Dharmadev and Bhaktimata, the sacred Kulkhani well, and the Nilkanth Van. Continue to Ayodhya — the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Ram and a Sapta Puri city granting Moksha, home to the magnificent new Ram Mandir and the sacred Saryu River. Proceed to Naimisharanya (Nimsar) — the ancient forest sanctuary on the banks of the Gomti where Maharishi Suta Goswami narrated all 18 Puranas to 88,000 assembled rishis, and where the Chakra Kund, Lalita Devi Shakti Peetha, and Vyas Gaddi create one of India's most powerful sacred environments. This 4-day Uttar Pradesh pilgrimage tour covers three of the most important pilgrimage sites in North India with expert guidance and comfortable private transport throughout.

Day-by-Day Itinerary — 3 Nights 4 Days Chhapiya Ayodhya Naimisharanya Tour Package

3 Nights / 4 Days · Chhapiya · Timings adjustable to your arrival

Day 1

Arrival & Chhapiya — Swaminarayan Janmabhoomi Darshan & Evening Aarti

Arrive at Lucknow (Airport or Charbagh Railway Station) or Ayodhya. Transfer to Chhapiya — approx. 90 km from Lucknow (1.5 hrs) or 100 km from Ayodhya. Check-in to the pilgrim guesthouse. Begin pilgrimage at the Swaminarayan Janmabhoomi Temple complex — visit the Janma Sthan (the sacred room of Lord Swaminarayan's birth), the ancestral home of Dharmadev and Bhaktimata (his blessed parents), the Kulkhani (ancestral well), and the Nilkanth Van garden. Your guide provides detailed spiritual commentary on the life and significance of Sahajanand Swami — from his miraculous birth, through his extraordinary childhood as Ghanshyam Maharaj, to the Nilkanth Yatra at age 11 and the founding of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. Attend the evening aarti at the Janmabhoomi Temple. Dinner and overnight at Chhapiya.
Day 2

Chhapiya to Ayodhya — Ram Mandir, Hanumangarhi, Kanak Bhawan & Saryu Aarti

Rise early for the morning mangala aarti at the Janmabhoomi Temple. After the aarti, prasad, and final parikrama, take breakfast and check out. Drive to Ayodhya — 100 km (approx. 2 hrs). Ayodhya, the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Ram, is one of the Sapta Puri — seven Moksha-granting cities. Begin with Saryu Snan at Ram ki Paidi — the sacred bath in the Saryu River, essential for all Ayodhya pilgrims. Ascend Hanumangarhi — the hilltop Hanuman temple at Ayodhya's highest point, guarding the city for eternity. Proceed to the Ram Mandir — the magnificent new temple consecrated 22 January 2024 at the Ram Janmabhoomi, in Nagara-style Rajasthani pink sandstone, with the idol of Ram Lalla (infant Rama) in the sanctum. Visit Kanak Bhawan — the golden palace temple with exquisitely adorned Sita-Ram idols. Explore Nageshwarnath Mandir, Treta Ke Thakur, and Dashrath Mahal. Evening: Saryu Aarti at Ram ki Paidi. Dinner and overnight in Ayodhya.
Day 3

Ayodhya to Naimisharanya — Chakra Kund, Lalita Devi Shakti Peetha & Gomti Aarti

After breakfast and a final morning darshan at the Ram Mandir or Saryu Ghat, drive to Naimisharanya (Nimsar) — approximately 130 km from Ayodhya (via Lucknow, approx. 2.5 hrs). Naimisharanya is one of the holiest sites in Hindu scripture — the ancient forest where 88,000 rishis gathered and Maharishi Suta Goswami narrated the entire corpus of 18 Puranas under the guidance of Shaunaka Rishi. The name means "in the twinkling of an eye" — where Lord Brahma's Chakra descended. Begin at the Chakra Kund — the circular sacred tank at the heart of Naimisharanya, where Lord Vishnu's Sudarshana Chakra descended to earth; a holy dip here is said to equal the merit of all other pilgrimages combined. Offer prayers at the Lalita Devi Temple — one of the 108 Shakti Peethas, where the heart of Sati fell, an immensely powerful Devi shrine. Visit Vyas Gaddi — the sacred seat where Maharishi Veda Vyasa composed and Suta narrated the 18 Puranas. Dadhichi Kund — the tank associated with the great sage Dadhichi who sacrificed his bones to create the Vajra weapon for Indra. Evening: the deeply moving Gomti riverbank aarti in the forested atmosphere of Naimisharanya. Dinner and overnight at pilgrim guesthouse in Naimisharanya.
Day 4

Naimisharanya — Dawn Chakra Kund Bath, Final Darshan & Departure

Rise before dawn for the most sacred experience at Naimisharanya: the pre-dawn bath at the Chakra Kund and the morning aarti at the Lalita Devi Temple — the most powerful time of the day in this ancient forest sanctuary, with mist rising from the Gomti and the sound of Vedic hymns from the temple. After the morning rituals, take a final parikrama of the Chakra Kund and seek the blessings of Lalita Devi. Breakfast at the guesthouse. If time permits: visit the Hanumat Dhara, the Balaji Temple, and the Gomti ghats at leisure. Check-out and transfer to Lucknow — 85 km (approx. 1.5 hrs) for your onward journey by flight or train. Alternatively, guests may depart directly from Naimisharanya by road to their destination. Tour concludes with the blessings of three extraordinary sacred sites.

Frequently Asked Questions — 3 Nights 4 Days Chhapiya Ayodhya Naimisharanya Tour Package

What is the spiritual connection between Chhapiya, Ayodhya, and Naimisharanya?

All three sites are deeply connected through the Hindu tradition of Uttar Pradesh. Ayodhya (Ram's birthplace) and Chhapiya (Swaminarayan's birthplace) share the Ram Navami tithi — Lord Swaminarayan was born on the same sacred day as Lord Rama, making both birthplaces spiritually resonant. Naimisharanya is the forest mentioned in the Valmiki Ramayana as the seat of the rishis — when Rama performed the Ashwamedh Yagna, the learned sages from Naimisharanya attended. Suta Goswami who narrated the Puranas at Naimisharanya was himself a disciple of Maharishi Vyasa, who also composed the Bhagavata Purana — the scripture most studied in the Swaminarayan Sampraday. The three sites form a natural pilgrimage circuit of scripture, divine birth, and forest ashram traditions.

What is the Chakra Kund and why is it uniquely sacred among all pilgrimages?

The Chakra Kund is the circular sacred tank at the heart of Naimisharanya, believed to mark the exact spot where Lord Vishnu's Sudarshana Chakra descended to earth, creating the boundary of the sacred forest. Hindu scripture, including the Skanda Purana, states that a single holy bath in the Chakra Kund is equal in merit to performing pilgrimages at all other tirthas in the universe. The Chakra Kund is also where the 88,000 rishis assembled around Suta Goswami to hear the Puranas narrated. The pre-dawn bath (brahma muhurta) at the Chakra Kund — which we include as the last morning of the Naimisharanya visit — is especially meritorious. The circular shape of the kund, maintained for thousands of years, reflects the disc of the Sudarshana Chakra.

Is the route from Ayodhya to Naimisharanya convenient?

Ayodhya to Naimisharanya is approximately 130 km (2.5 hrs by road) via Lucknow. The most practical route is Ayodhya → Lucknow (140 km, 2.5 hrs) → Naimisharanya (85 km, 1.5 hrs), passing through or around Lucknow city. The roads are mostly national or state highways and are in reasonable condition. We recommend departing Ayodhya after breakfast (around 9:00 AM) to arrive at Naimisharanya by early afternoon, allowing the full afternoon and evening for Chakra Kund, Lalita Devi Temple, Vyas Gaddi, and the evening Gomti aarti.

What accommodation is available at Naimisharanya?

Naimisharanya is primarily a pilgrimage town with dharamshala (pilgrim guesthouse) accommodation. The most popular options are the Lalita Devi Temple dharamshala and several well-maintained ashram rest houses near the Chakra Kund. All meals are strictly satvik vegetarian (no onion, no garlic). The accommodations are clean and comfortable for pilgrims, but not luxury standard. Guests preferring more comfort can stay in Sitapur (20 km, 30 min) or return to Lucknow (85 km), but we strongly recommend staying overnight in Naimisharanya for the pre-dawn Chakra Kund bath — one of the most spiritually transformative experiences of the entire pilgrimage.
