Frequently Asked Questions — 9 Nights 10 Days Ayodhya Naimisharanya Prayagraj Chitrakoot Varanasi Gaya Tour Package

What is the best time to do this 9N10D Ayodhya to Gaya pilgrimage tour?

October to March is ideal — pleasant weather (10–25°C), major festivals like Deepotsav in Ayodhya (November), Kartik Purnima Snan at Prayagraj and Varanasi, and Buddha Jayanti at Bodhgaya. Avoid May–June (extreme heat 40–45°C). The Pitru Paksha fortnight (September) is the most auspicious time for Pind Daan at Gaya, but accommodation gets scarce — book 3 months in advance.

Is Pind Daan at Gaya mandatory? What is the significance?

Pind Daan at Gaya is considered the most sacred Shraddha ritual in Hinduism. According to scriptures, performing Pind Daan at the Vishnupad Temple frees the souls of ancestors from the cycle of rebirth and grants them Moksha. It is not mandatory for the tour, but highly recommended for those who wish to perform the rite. Our guide will coordinate with a qualified pandit. Pandit dakshina is extra (approx. ₹1,500–3,000).

Why is Naimisharanya included in this tour?

Naimisharanya (Nimsar, Sitapur) is one of the most ancient pilgrimage sites in India, mentioned in the Puranas as the forest of 88,000 rishis. It is home to Chakra Tirth — where Lord Vishnu's Sudarshana Chakra landed — and Lalita Devi, one of the 108 Shakti Peethas. Despite its spiritual significance, it is rarely included in mainstream tours. We include it because it is only 130 km from Ayodhya and offers an authentic, uncrowded pilgrimage experience.

How far is Bodhgaya from Varanasi? Is it covered on the same day?

Bodhgaya is approximately 250 km from Varanasi (4.5–5 hrs drive). On Day 9 we drive from Varanasi to Gaya in the afternoon, arriving by evening for Vishnupad darshan. Bodhgaya is 17 km from Gaya city and is covered on Day 10 morning before departure. This sequencing ensures you have full quality time at both Varanasi and Bodhgaya without rushing.

What is the route sequence of this tour?

The tour follows a logical geographic route to minimize backtracking: Ayodhya (2 nights) → Naimisharanya (1 night, 130 km) → Prayagraj (2 nights, 220 km) → Chitrakoot (1 night, 130 km) → Varanasi (2 nights, 280 km) → Gaya/Bodhgaya (1 night, 250 km). Total driving across 10 days is approx. 1,010 km covered in comfortable AC vehicles.

Is this tour suitable for senior citizens and families with children?

Yes, this tour is designed for multigenerational families, senior citizens, and first-time pilgrims. We use comfortable AC vehicles (Innova for 2–6 pax, Tempo Traveller for larger groups), hotels with lifts and accessibility, and our guide assists at every temple. Kamadgiri Parikrama (5 km) can be done partially or by palanquin for seniors. We recommend e-rikshaws at Ayodhya ghats which are senior-friendly.

Can this 10-day tour be customized?

Absolutely. We can extend to 11–12 days to add more leisure time at Varanasi or Bodhgaya, include Lucknow (Imambara, Nawabi cuisine) en route Ayodhya, add Allahabad University and colonial heritage, or add Rajgir and Nalanda to the Gaya leg. We can also arrange luxury hotel upgrades, private temple pujas, and Ganga Aarti VIP seating. Contact us to customize your sacred journey.
