4 Nights 5 Days Prayagraj Varanasi Chitrakoot Tour Package — Prayagraj Tour Package Overview

4 Nights 5 Days Prayagraj, Varanasi & Chitrakoot Tour Package — India's most complete and spiritually transformative pilgrimage circuit, weaving together three of Hinduism's most sacred destinations across the heartland of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Prayagraj (Allahabad) — where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati converge at the sacred Triveni Sangam — is the epicentre of the world's largest human gathering, the Kumbh Mela. A holy dip here is believed to liberate the soul across seven lifetimes. Prayagraj also carries India's greatest Mughal and nationalist heritage — Akbar's Fort, the immortal Akshayavat, and the Nehru-Gandhi ancestral Anand Bhawan.

Varanasi (Kashi) — the world's oldest continuously inhabited city and Lord Shiva's own abode — offers the Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, a sunrise boat ride past 84 ancient ghats, the world-famous Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh, and the Buddhist deer park at Sarnath where the Buddha set the Wheel of Dharma in motion.

Chitrakoot — the sacred Ramayana forest city where Lord Ram, Sita, and Laxman spent 11½ of their 14 years of exile — adds a profound third dimension of Vaishnava spirituality. The Kamadgiri Parikrama, Ramghat Aarti on the Mandakini River, the mysterious Gupt Godavari Caves, and the sacred Sphatik Shila make Chitrakoot one of the most moving pilgrimage experiences in all of India.

VisitKashi has masterfully designed this 5-day itinerary — sequencing the three cities logically, balancing spiritual depth with comfortable travel, and ensuring you experience the very best each destination offers. Frequently Asked Questions — 4 Nights 5 Days Prayagraj Varanasi Chitrakoot Tour Package

Why is the Prayagraj–Varanasi–Chitrakoot circuit considered India's ultimate pilgrimage?

These three cities together represent the complete Sanatan Dharma pilgrimage experience. Prayagraj is the confluence of three holy rivers and the Kumbh Mela ground — it cleanses karma. Varanasi is Lord Shiva's own city where death itself grants moksha — it liberates the soul. Chitrakoot is Lord Ram's vanvas bhoomi — the forest where dharma was lived in its purest form — it purifies the spirit. Together they cover the three great paths of Hinduism: jnana (knowledge), bhakti (devotion), and karma (righteous action).

What is the night distribution in this 5-day package?

Night 1 & 2 in Prayagraj · Night 3 in Varanasi · Night 4 in Chitrakoot. Departure on Day 5 from Chitrakoot (Karwi Bus Stand / Chitrakoot Railway Station) or Satna Junction (45 mins away, well-connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi). We can also drive you back to Varanasi or Prayagraj for departure — add approximately 4 hours travel time; let us know at booking.

How far is Varanasi from Prayagraj, and Chitrakoot from Varanasi?

Prayagraj to Varanasi: approximately 130 km, 2.5–3 hours by road on NH19. Varanasi to Chitrakoot: approximately 250 km, 4–4.5 hours by road. The Varanasi–Chitrakoot leg passes through scenic rural landscapes of eastern UP. Our AC vehicle handles all intercity drives comfortably with planned rest stops.

Is Day 4 (Varanasi + Chitrakoot) too packed?

Day 4 is the most travel-intensive day — early morning boat ride, Sarnath visit, and then the drive to Chitrakoot. We manage this by waking early (5 AM boat ride), keeping Sarnath to 2 hours, departing Varanasi by 12–1 PM, and arriving in Chitrakoot by 4–5 PM — leaving time for the evening Kamadgiri parikrama and Ramghat aarti. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, you can skip Sarnath or request an additional Varanasi night (extra cost). Contact us on WhatsApp to customise.

Can I combine this package with Ayodhya to create a full Ramayana circuit?

Absolutely. Adding Ayodhya to this circuit creates the ultimate Ramayana pilgrimage — Ayodhya (Ram's birthplace, Ram Mandir) + Prayagraj (Sangam, pilgrimage heritage) + Chitrakoot (Ram's forest exile) + Varanasi (Kashi, moksha). VisitKashi offers a 6N/7D and 7N/8D version of this extended circuit. Contact us on WhatsApp for a custom quote.

What is the best time of year to cover all three cities?

October to March is ideal for all three cities. The weather is cool and comfortable (12°C–28°C), perfect for outdoor parikramas, ghats walks, and cave visits. Chitrakoot receives heavy rains in July–September making the Gupt Godavari caves inaccessible. The Varanasi Dev Deepawali (November, Kartik Purnima) coincides beautifully with pleasant weather — consider timing your trip around it for an extraordinary experience.

What type of vehicle is used for the intercity drives?

For 1–4 persons: AC Toyota Innova Crysta or Maruti Ertiga. For 5–8 persons: AC Innova Crysta or Force Urbania. For 9–15 persons: AC Tempo Traveller. For larger groups: AC Minibus / Coach. All vehicles are well-maintained, GPS-tracked, and operated by verified, experienced drivers familiar with the Prayagraj–Varanasi–Chitrakoot corridor.

Is this package suitable for senior citizens?

Yes, with adjustments. The Sangam boat ride is very gentle. The Kamadgiri parikrama is 5 km on flat, paved ground suitable for most seniors. The Gupt Godavari cave wading can be skipped. The Hanuman Dhara climb (200+ steps) is optional. The sunrise boat ride can be shortened. Our guide sets an unhurried pace for senior groups. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles available on request with advance notice.

What is Sarnath and how is it connected to both Varanasi and Buddhism?

Sarnath is 12 km from Varanasi city and is one of Buddhism's four most sacred sites — where the Buddha delivered his first sermon (Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta) after attaining enlightenment at Bodh Gaya. The Dhamek Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihar, and Sarnath Museum are key attractions. Sarnath's connection to Varanasi is deep — the Buddha walked from Bodh Gaya specifically to the deer park near Varanasi to share his discovery with his five former companions, thus beginning the spread of Buddhism across Asia.

What is unique about the Ramghat Aarti in Chitrakoot compared to the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi?

Both are deeply moving but offer different spiritual energies. The Ganga Aarti at Varanasi is grand and theatrical — performed by seven priests with massive fire torches before thousands of onlookers on the most famous ghats in the world. The Ramghat Aarti in Chitrakoot is more intimate and forest-spirited — smaller in scale, profoundly personal, performed on the banks of the gentle Mandakini surrounded by forested hills. Those who have experienced both often say Chitrakoot's aarti moved them more deeply because of its authentic, unhurried devotion.

What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Cancellation 7+ days before departure: full refund minus ₹500 processing fee. Cancellation 3–7 days before: 50% refund. Cancellation within 72 hours: no refund. Rescheduling: one free date change with minimum 5 days notice; subsequent changes at ₹500/person. All bookings and cancellations are confirmed via WhatsApp or our website booking form. We recommend travel insurance for all multi-city pilgrimage packages.
