Day-by-Day Itinerary — 1 Night 2 Days Ayodhya Tour Package | Airport & Station Pickup Drop
1 Night / 2 Days · Ayodhya · Timings adjustable to your arrival
Day 1: Arrival → Hanuman Garhi → Kanak Bhawan → Dashrath Mahal → Saryu Ghats → Sandhya Aarti → Hotel Check-in
Night 1 — Ayodhya
Arrival & Welcome (Flexible — based on your flight/train time):
Your driver-guide meets you at Ayodhya Airport (AYJ) or Ayodhya Junction Railway Station with a name board. After a warm welcome and a brief orientation about the two-day itinerary, proceed toward the holy city. Freshening up at the hotel before beginning your temple circuit is recommended if arriving early.
Hotel Check-in (Late Morning / Early Afternoon):
Check in to your pre-arranged hotel near the temple zone or Saryu Ghat area. The hotels recommended by VisitKashi are clean, vegetarian, and spiritually oriented — no meat or alcohol on premises, in keeping with Ayodhya's sacred traditions. Keep luggage and freshen up for the afternoon temple circuit.
Hanuman Garhi Temple (Early Afternoon):
Begin your Ayodhya darshan at Hanuman Garhi — the hilltop sentinel deity of the city. Devotees believe one must seek Hanuman ji's blessing before entering Ram Janmabhoomi. Climb the iconic 76 steps to the hilltop temple where a majestic idol of Mother Anjani nursing infant Hanuman is enshrined. The elevated location offers a sweeping panoramic view of Ayodhya's rooftops, temple spires, and the distant shimmer of the Saryu River.
Kanak Bhawan (Mid-Afternoon):
Walk to the magnificent Kanak Bhawan — the "Golden Palace" — said to have been gifted by Queen Kaikeyi to Mata Sita as a personal wedding gift, a residence purely for the divine couple. The temple enshrines Ram and Sita in resplendent gold-adorned royal attire, and the divine warmth of the idols is palpable. The interior is richly decorated with ornate carvings and colourful murals — one of Ayodhya's most spiritually intimate shrines.
Dashrath Mahal & Sita Ki Rasoi (Late Afternoon):
Visit Dashrath Mahal — the ancestral royal palace of the Ikshvaku dynasty, where King Dashrath held court and where four princes (Ram, Lakshmana, Bharat, Shatrughna) were born. The complex features Ramayana frescoes and multiple smaller shrines. Adjacent, visit Sita Ki Rasoi — traditionally identified as Mata Sita's kitchen, one of the oldest Ramayana tradition sites in Ayodhya. The shrine includes ancient cooking implements and a small sanctum with Sita's idol.
Ram ki Paidi Ghats & Saryu Walk (Early Evening):
As the sun dips golden, walk along the Ram ki Paidi Ghats on the sacred Saryu River. This beautifully developed marble ghat complex stretches along the river with steps, lamps, and Ramayana-themed stone panels. Take a moment to sit at the water's edge, dip your feet in the Saryu, offer flowers, and absorb the tranquil energy of the holy river as pilgrims and sadhus gather for the evening ritual.
Saryu Sandhya Aarti (5:30 PM – 6:30 PM approximately):
Witness the soul-stirring Saryu Sandhya Aarti — a magnificent lamp-lit ritual performed at dusk with chanting, conch blowing, and thousands of diyas floated on the river. The reflection of lamps on the dark water, the fragrance of flowers and incense, and the collective bhakti of gathered pilgrims creates an atmosphere of extraordinary devotion. This is the spiritual crown of Day 1.
Dinner & Overnight Stay — Ayodhya:
Return to your hotel for dinner. Ayodhya offers excellent sattvic vegetarian cuisine — puri-sabzi, khichdi, halwa, pedas, and warm milk. Retire early for a Day 2 pre-dawn start. Sleeping in Ayodhya, one of the seven Sapta Puri, is itself considered spiritually meritorious.
Day 2: Sunrise Saryu Holy Dip → Ram Janmabhoomi & Ram Mandir → Nageshwarnath → Treta Ke Thakur → Tulsi Smarak → Mani Parvat → Departure
Day 2 — Ayodhya → Airport / Station
Pre-Dawn Wake-Up & Sunrise Saryu Holy Dip (5:00–6:00 AM):
Rise before dawn for the most auspicious ritual of the entire journey — a holy dip in the Saryu River at sunrise. The ghats at this hour are serene, mist-covered, and almost completely quiet — just the sound of flowing water, temple bells from afar, and the first birds of morning. The Saryu is said to grant moksha (liberation) to those who bathe in her waters with devotion. This pre-dawn experience is the exclusive privilege of those who stay overnight in Ayodhya — and it is unforgettable.
Ram Janmabhoomi & Ram Mandir Darshan (6:30 AM – 9:00 AM):
Proceed to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex for darshan at the early morning slot — the single best time to visit Ram Mandir. Queues at this hour are significantly shorter than afternoon visits, the atmosphere is profoundly devotional with morning aarti and temple bells, and the light inside the marble sanctum creates a divine golden glow around Ram Lalla's idol.
Built in Nagara-style architecture using pink Rajasthan sandstone, the 70-acre complex with its 161-foot-tall main tower (shikhara) is one of the grandest Hindu temples of the modern era. Your guide explains the Ramayana connection, the 500-year history of the site, and the significance of each section of the complex as you move through it. Spend time in the outer courtyard, museum, and gardens before exiting.
Breakfast (9:00 – 9:30 AM):
After the spiritually charged morning, enjoy a wholesome sattvic breakfast — kachori, puri-sabzi, or poha with chai, available near the temple precinct. Street stalls around Ram Janmabhoomi also offer prasad and hot pedas.
Nageshwarnath Temple (9:45 AM – 10:15 AM):
Visit Nageshwarnath Temple — one of Ayodhya's most ancient Shiva temples, traditionally established by Kush, the son of Lord Ram, after a divine nagamani (serpent jewel) manifested here. This temple bridges Shaiva and Vaishnava traditions beautifully, and is particularly significant during Shivaratri, when a special yagna is performed. The idol is adorned with a serpent (naga) crown, distinct from most Shiva shrines.
Treta Ke Thakur (10:15 AM – 10:45 AM):
Visit Treta Ke Thakur — the temple marking the spot where Lord Ram performed the great Ashwamedha Yagna after his victorious return from Lanka. The idol of Ram installed here is said to be made from the original clay of the yagna site, making it one of Ayodhya's most historically venerated shrines. Treta refers to the Treta Yuga, the cosmic age in which the Ramayana took place.
Tulsi Smarak Bhawan & Mani Parvat (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
Visit Tulsi Smarak Bhawan — the memorial institution dedicated to Goswami Tulsidas, the 16th-century saint-poet who composed the Ramcharitmanas (the most widely read Ramayana text in Hindi) and spent years in Ayodhya. The hall features rare manuscripts, illustrated panels, and a small library of Ramayana literature. Then drive to Mani Parvat — a small sacred hill that offers a bird's-eye view over the holy city and the Saryu floodplain. The hilltop is peaceful and perfect for a final moment of quiet reflection before departure.
Checkout & Departure (12:30 PM – as per your schedule):
Return to the hotel for checkout, collect luggage, and proceed to your Ayodhya Airport (AYJ) or Ayodhya Junction Railway Station for your onward journey. Your driver ensures timely arrival accounting for traffic and check-in requirements. You leave Ayodhya carrying the blessings of Ram Lalla, the purity of the Saryu, and memories that will remain with you for a lifetime. Jay Shri Ram!

Good to Know
Early Check-in: Standard hotel check-in is 12 PM. If your flight/train arrives early (before 10 AM), we recommend booking an early check-in (at an extra charge from hotel) or leaving luggage at the hotel and beginning the temple circuit directly.
Ram Mandir Timing: Darshan timings are generally 7:00 AM–11:30 AM and 2:00 PM–7:00 PM. We strongly recommend the 7–9 AM slot (Day 2 of this package). Mobile phones must be deposited at lockers before entering — lockers are provided free of charge.
Dress Code: All temples require modest attire — kurta-pajama or dhoti for men; saree or salwar kameez for women. Carry a light dupatta/stole. Shorts, sleeveless tops, and tight-fitting clothes are not permitted inside temple premises.
Fully Vegetarian City: Ayodhya is a strict vegetarian city — no non-vegetarian food or alcohol is available anywhere within city limits. All restaurants and hotels serve pure vegetarian, largely sattvic food.
Festival Periods: During Ram Navami (March–April), Diwali, Vivah Panchami, and Parikrama season (Oct–Dec), Ayodhya draws millions of pilgrims. Darshan queues can be 4–6 hours. We recommend booking a pre-dawn private darshan slot during these periods — ask us for special festival arrangements.
Checkout & Departure: Standard hotel checkout is 11 AM on Day 2. If your train/flight is late afternoon or evening, a late checkout can usually be arranged (at extra cost) or we can store luggage and continue sightseeing until your departure time.
Frequently Asked Questions — 1 Night 2 Days Ayodhya Tour Package | Airport & Station Pickup Drop
Why is 2 days better than 1 day in Ayodhya?
▼A 1-day visit forces you to rush through Ayodhya. With 2 days, you get two Saryu experiences (evening aarti on Day 1 + sunrise holy dip on Day 2), early morning Ram Mandir darshan with far smaller queues, and time for temples like Sita Ki Rasoi, Tulsi Smarak, Nageshwarnath and Mani Parvat that are skipped on day trips. Overnight stay in Ayodhya itself is considered spiritually meritorious in Hindu tradition.
Is there direct pickup from Ayodhya Airport?
▼Yes. Our driver meets you at Ayodhya Airport (formally Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham, IATA: AYJ) with a name board. We also offer pickup from Ayodhya Junction (AY) and Ayodhya Cantt Station (AWB). Drop is provided at the same location on Day 2.
What is the best time to do Ram Mandir darshan — and why does staying overnight help?
▼The best darshan window is 7:00–9:00 AM when queues are shortest and the atmosphere most devotional (morning aarti, golden temple light). Staying overnight lets you visit in this early slot — impossible if you arrive on the morning of your visit. Afternoon queues can be 2–4 hours long on busy days.
What is included in the Saryu sunrise holy dip experience?
▼On Day 2 morning (around 5–5:30 AM), your driver takes you to Ram ki Paidi Ghats for a pre-dawn holy dip in the Saryu River. The ghat provides changing rooms, lockers, and lamp facilities. It is a private, spiritual experience — no crowds, just the river, dawn light, and temple bells. Bring a fresh change of clothes and a small towel.
Which hotel will I stay at in Ayodhya?
▼We arrange stays at clean 3-star properties in the temple zone or Saryu Ghat area — Ramayan Hotel, Hotel Saket, Ayodhya Sarovar Portico, or similar. All are vegetarian properties (no alcohol or non-veg). Final hotel is confirmed at booking based on availability. Upgrade options available.
Can I visit Chhapiya (Swaminarayan birthplace) during this 2-day package?
▼Yes — Chhapiya is just 20 km from Ayodhya (30–40 min drive). We can add a half-day extension to Chhapiya Swaminarayan Temple on either day as an add-on. Please mention at booking; a small additional charge applies for the extended cab usage.
Is the tour suitable for elderly/senior pilgrims?
▼Yes, with minor adjustments. Hanuman Garhi (76 steps) and Mani Parvat (hilltop) can be skipped if mobility is limited — there is still an abundance of ground-level temple darshans. The sunrise Saryu ghat has gentle marble steps with railing support. We pace the tour gently for senior groups. Wheelchair-accessible ghats are available at Ram ki Paidi.
Can I extend this package to 3 days or add Varanasi/Prayagraj?
▼Absolutely. We offer 3N/4D, 4N/5D, and longer packages that combine Ayodhya with Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Bodhgaya. These start at Ayodhya and cover the complete Ramayana-Kashi-Buddhist circuit. Ask us for a customized quote based on your travel dates and group size.
